Primary Processing

Streamlines information flow from livestock receipt to kill agenda to post-kill farmer feedback and payments, whilst monitoring and optimising the slaughter process through chillers, into processing and load-out to maximise labour and efficiency savings.

Primary Processing

Livestock Manager ties booking and receipt processes into the kill agenda, providing comprehensive inventory of all animals on the plant. The flexible solution can be mob or individual-animal RFID based, and it allows yard, NLIS and supplier status to be incorporated, enabling meaningful market checks prior to slaughter.

Main Benefits

  • Simplifies the booking and receipt process

  • Matches expectations and bookings to actual receipts

  • Forms interactive kill agenda

  • Allows additional yard and heath data to be added

  • Can be mob or individual animal RFID based

With Livestock Manager, lot booking and receipt information such as agent, buyer, market, purchase mode, farmer, carrier, NVD (or eNVD, ASD) are all captured, and this info flows through into the weigh grade kill agenda. The tool automates information tracking and simplifies regulatory auditing. Livestock clerks can plan for livestock deliveries and the package is flexible enough to allow a lot receipt without a booking. Expectations and bookings are matched to actual receipts.

Additional yard and health data can be added to the mob or to individual animals. This can be attached to individual animals (where these are identified by tags – usually RFID), the whole lot or just a delivery. When appropriate, this information creates carcass or mob alerts for operators when the carcass or mob is processed at a workstation.

The livestock clerk or weigh grade supervisor selects and updates the receipted livestock (Stock Available for Processing) into a kill agenda that flows through to become the weigh grade mob table. Lot Manager flows through to other area to reduce double entry and streamline the process.

Lot Manager supports both mob based for small stock or individual animal RFID based for cattle, deer (NZ) and the likely mandatory requirement in some regions for sheep/goats.

Manage livestock purchase and payment cycles, while automatically factoring in all the variables required to accurately remunerate suppliers and invoice for service kill fees. Livestock Payments conveniently centralises payments from one location and eliminates the need to manually collate info from multiple sources.

Main Benefits

  • Manage your livestock purchasing and payments from one convenient, central location

  • Powerful scheduling and tracking ensures your livestock supplies are always available

  • Centralises management of lot costing, region/supplier grade scores, pelts/skins, offal, farmer feedback and more

  • Manages multiple items including lot costing, region/supplier grade scores, pelts/skins, offal, farmer feedback

  • Simplifies remittance advice and invoices to suppliers for stock purchases and service kill fees

Livestock Payments allows easy creation and management of grids/schedules for over-the-hook stock purchases. This kind of centralised management also means you always know your: Stock Booked/ Scheduled to Arrive, Stock on Plant, Stock in Processing Service Kill, Stock in Processing Own Account, and Stock Available for Processing.

The module tracks a wide range of selection criteria including: category, sex, fat depth/score range, weight range and dentition range. It supports easier management of toll processing/service kill charges, credit meats retained for service kills and purchase mode settings for freight, hides and skins.

It also serves as a powerful scheduling and tracking tool to ensure easy management of your livestock supplies. Once configured, it automatically tracks the multiple items required for lot costing and farmer feedback. These include purchase type, agent/buyer commissions, region/supplier grade scores, pelts/skins, offal retained, credit meats retained.

The system makes it easy to send remittance advice and invoices to agents/suppliers for stock purchases and service kill fees. Remittance advice is passed as a buyer-created invoice and toll processing as an ordinary invoice to the plant accounting package

Weigh Grade is a highly configurable solution built like an information conveyor belt. It systematically adds data to individual kill agenda records and tracks each animal from the yards all the way through the slaughter process. Access real-time displays of production progress and predicted throughput requirements from plant or office. Use manual grading or objective grading to eliminate errors inherent with human choice.

Main Benefits

  • Automated grading features reduce costly human errors

  • Manual double entry is eliminated, improving speed and accuracy

  • Provides detailed, real-time, user-defined reporting

  • In-house and industry grade processed simultaneously

  • Individual body accountability and comprehensive detail

Triton Systems Weigh Grade module is easy to use for kill floor operators, yet provides in-depth real-time information and reporting for plant managers and office staff.

A multi-species system for beef, sheep, pigs, deer, goats and game, it is easily configured for multiple species, and operates as fast as 16 units + per minute. Along the way, touch screens capture relevant information, including live weight, NLIS/NAIT records, ear/tail tag, sex, dentition, animal health, defects, fat depth and weight. Once configured, Weigh Grade continues to run, freeing processors and managers to attend to other duties.

Initial grading information is provided automatically by the lot agenda, and then is edited only as required by the operator. This offers incredible speed, accuracy and simplicity, and reduces costly human errors. Often, it is as simple as a single key press to access fat depth readings.

The intuitive, robust tool is designed with Triton’s failsafe architecture, which ensures your production never stops, despite external downtime events.

Weigh Grade integrates completely and seamlessly, connecting kill floor systems with the NLIS database and to livestock costing, payments and feedback. It brings improved visibility, stability and control to your processing facility and contributes to better efficiency and profitability.

Carcase Track allows you to easily trace each animal back to its source and ensure precise traceability is maintained throughout the plant. Though it works with all stock sizes, the solution is ideally suited to small-stock plants, where high throughputs create special challenges for maintaining traceability.

Main Benefits

  • Provides accurate yield recovery analysis

  • Eliminates need for carcase tags, reducing consumable requirements

  • Allows boning room input and carcase load-out automation

  • Easily traces each animal back to its source via RFID or 2D enabled skid/gambrel

  • Creates greater efficiencies through automation of chillers and carcase handling

  • Reduces labour

Carcase Track captures all animal information gathered throughout the grading process and assigns a unique identification number that carries this information through to the boning room.

It provides accurate, detailed information on animal health and detain, enables chiller automation and management, with boning room input and carcase load-out automation. Tracking on fixed chains and the incorporation of RFID or 2D barcodes on skids means processors can easily automate carcase handling.

This reliable and affordable traceability tool employs either RFID tags and reader or robust metal 2D barcodes and readers.

Hide/Skin manager allows managers to establish unique grading criterion and sort hides/skins by like-grade pallets. Information then flows to other Triton FUSION modules to eliminate duplication of data and increase efficiency. Hide/Skin Manager provides on-floor redundancy, and real-time data and reports.

Main Benefits

  • Assists in building like-grade pallets and controls hide/skin stocks

  • Configurable solution grades and palletises processed hides

  • Integrated to Inventory and Sales Systems Modules, to streamline process and reduce errors

Hide/Skin Manager records the full range of hide information, including species, sex, grade, weight, and area (if an area measurement unit is attached).

Each graded hide is assigned a customizable tag/ticket which can include grade details, supplier and lot, hide number, and details of the pallet to which the hide is being added. Data is then passed through to Triton Stock Scan, where hide and pallet stock is managed.

Each grade type is allocated a “number per pallet.” When this is reached, the system automatically prints a pallet label with selected pallet details.

Hide/Skin Manager consists of three modules: Server, Office Client and On-Floor processing unit.

The Office and On-Floor systems are separate but connected, and each are fully operational even if connection between them is lost. The On-Floor touchscreen can work independently, grading and assembling pallets of hide’s standalone.

The details concerning all hides and the pallets are uploaded to the office system, the database and reporting facility in real time. Office reports can be generated for grade summaries and lists for suppliers, day- and date-range reports, etc.
