Zebra MC9300 Mobile Computer Update: What You Need to Know

The Triton Online Store has a range of mobile computer barcode scanning solutions available.  This article will focus on the benefits of upgrading to the Zebra MC9300, how Triton has made it easy to transition through our Stock Scan software, and the hot deal we have right now for a limited time on the latest version release.

What is the Zebra MC9300?

In early 2019, Zebra Technologies announced the updated replacement for their long-standing MC9200 handheld mobile computer with plans to end production on this device. The MC9300 picks up right where its predecessor left off by offering numerous upgrades across the board: from a larger touch screen display (4.3″ vs 3.7″), increased battery life of 8 hours rather than 5, increased IP Rating, and Android operating system replacing the end of life Windows version.

These new features ensure the new model is ideal for warehouse workers in almost any environment, who need both comfortable ergonomics while also requiring more uptime without having to charge mid-shift or switch out batteries during heavy usage periods. And by switching to Andriod the operating system is future proofed with a provider committed for the long haul.

What's New in the Latest Zebra MC9300 Release?

Recently a new version of the MC9300 has been released with a new and improved scan engine. This means that it will be capable of scanning more barcodes per second, increasing the overall throughput.

Thinking about Upgrading from the Zebra MC9200?

The MC9300 is a great time to upgrade if you haven’t already. Below are some of the reasons why:

  • The MC9300 device is now even more durable due to an improved IP rating (MC9200 IP64 electronic enclosure, display and keypad per IEC Sealing specification, MC9300 IP67 and IP65 per applicable IEC sealing specifications)
  • The new battery runs almost twice as long as the MC9200 on a single charge
  • New Android operating system vs end of life Windows CE
  • Triton has a limited time hot deal now on for the latest version release – see below for details

What You Need to Know When Upgrading

Adaptor Charging Cup
With the handy adaptor cup, you can make your old MC9200 charging dock compatible with your new MC9300. This is for charging only, and when you connect the scanner to PC via USB (e.g. for diagnostic purposes) then you will need the updated MC9300 dock.

Triton Stock Scan Transition
Triton has made it easy for our software customers to transition to the MC9300 by developing an Android version of our Stock Scan Scanning software.  With this feature, you can run both legacy Windows scanners and Android scanners on the same Stock Scan server (depending on the version of Stock Scan in use, it may require an upgrade to allow this – if in doubt check with your local Customer Solutions Consultant).
